Milverton Primary School Gets IT Upgrade

Mon 10 Aug 2015

ehB Residential, which has offices in Warwick and Leamington, donated £1,000 to help the school in Greatheed Road upgrade its IT systems and install new state-of-the-art computers.

Around 30 laptops have been purchased by Milverton Primary School in a bid to enhance children’s access to IT facilities and improve opportunities for learning.

To celebrate the opening of the new IT suite, Gayl Tallis, of ehB Residential, presented 11-year-old student Daisy Bennett with an ehB Residential IT Endeavour Award.

It is the first time the award has been presented to a student at the school and recognises Daisy’s skills in all areas of computing.

Gayl said: “We were only too pleased to support Milverton Primary School with its fundraising appeal.

“It is extremely important for schoolchildren to have access to IT facilities in order to enhance their learning and improve their computer skills.

“We decided to award Daisy the very first IT Endeavour Award as she had demonstrated fantastic abilities when creating leaflets and using various computer programmes to create games and design complex buildings.

“The Year Six pupils also painted a beautiful picture for us to take back to our Leamington office and this will now take pride of place our wall.”

The school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) raised a total of £15,000 to complete the IT upgrade.

Sarah Simon, a representative for the PTA, said: “It was important that the school was able to boost its IT facilities to meet new national guidelines.

“We previously had one computer for every three children but with the addition of 31 new state-of-the-art laptops, the children can now enjoy access to a computer each.

“This is really beneficial for the children as they are now able to learn and develop their skills at their own pace. The education environment has changed dramatically and there is an increasing demand for online services – so to have new computers is fantastic.

“The PTA works extremely hard to raise funds through organising bake sales, school fetes, raffles and balls so we are really grateful when companies such as ehb Residential also provide support.”

"To all the staff at ehB. Thanks for all your hard work and help with my house sale. Very best wishes."
