ehB attends official opening of Riding for the Disabled centre with Princess Anne

Fri 14 Jun 2019

ehB Residential MD Edward Bromwich was among supporters invited to the official opening of a £1.6 million training centre for the Riding for the Disabled Association in Shrewley this week.

ehB contributed a four figure sum towards the new centre, which includes indoor and outdoor riding arenas, a viewing gallery with seating for 120 people, stabling and paddocks for 20 horses, plus training rooms and offices.

Edward said: “We’re very proud to have supported the RDA in the development of its new headquarters and enjoyed a fantastic day at the official opening with HRH Princess Anne.”

The Princess Royal is president of the RDA and a patron of the centre, based at Lowlands Farm, which will bring together, train and inspire the charity’s volunteers and coaches from almost 500 RDA centres across the UK.

The opening event coincided with the 50th anniversary of the charity, which is dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through horse riding and carriage driving.

Princess Anne, who spoke to riders and presented rosettes during her visit, said: “I take my hat off to the RDA for convincing people that there is a value in therapeutic terms in riding horses. This centre will bring huge benefits for future riders – this is a really exciting day.”

The RDA helps around 25,000 disabled adults and children a year and its 18,000 qualified coaches and volunteers support complex forms of disability, including multi-disability, learning disabilities and mental health problems.

"After viewing our perfect house with ehB we put our house on the market with them and it was sold within 24 hours and they helped us secure our lovely new home. ehB were competitive with their quote for selling our property and they ensured a seamless transaction enabling the chain to complete in less than 8 weeks - far quicker than we ever imagined. We would like to thank the fantastic team at ehB for all that they did to help us."
