One of three mind-blowingly stunning homes converted from a former convent in Lapworth is available at £899,000.
The grandest of the three, The Abbess, offers a magnificent 2,300 sq ft over two and a half floors. It has a stunning kitchen dining room filled with handmade units and Miele appliances, large lounge with French doors to the garden and four bedrooms all with en suites.
The 19th century convent, which has been transformed to create 18 individual residences, has been praised for its historical significance by English Heritage.
The buildings are set around a tranquil monastic style courtyard with fruit trees and a fountain, and original features such as gothic arches, stained glass windows and cathedral ceilings abound. There is even a carriage porch – or porte cochere to use the correct architectural parlance.
The other two available homes are Sacre Coeur, which offers a vast open plan kitchen dining living room, four double bedrooms, two with en suites, and a study, along with a family bathroom and utility in 2,000 sq ft.
Mother Gabriel is an unusual triplex apartment with its own private lift and a top floor kitchen living room with doors opening onto a large terrace with vistas. With 1,200 sq ft of space it offers two bedrooms, with the master having a dressing room and palatial en suite with claw bath.
Prices begin at £600,000.
"We have found EHB really good to work with - you have all been very proactive on our behalf, and provided good down to earth advice. Your documentation in the booklet and the plan of the house was exemplary. This is in contrast to the more expensive and more national company dealing with our purchase. We would strongly recommend EHB to anyone wanting to sell their property in this area."
