Congratulations to our Lettings Team, in their busiest Summer in history
In what has been our busiest summer ever (continuing to be a record breaking Autumn), we have had a brief time to reflect on our team’s efforts. As a company, we have seen major changes in sales, management and lettings - but as ever, the team has risen to work even harder, going above and beyond for our clients. News of the sales market taking the country by storm has dominated reporting, but we felt it was right to celebrate and reflect on our Lettings Team’s achievements.
2020 started as it meant to go on, providing difficult and uncharted waters. Brexit and all it’s challenges was causing major changes in the lettings market. The uncertainty and movement in regulation was difficult to keep on top of, providing a new bout of work, to stay aware and be able to provide insight to our many clients. On top of this, the Tenant fee ban came into place, creating a huge challenge to our lettings team. For a small, independent business with over 400 lettings clients, the mammoth task of altering our processes and terms of business was anything but simple. Then Covid-19 arrived.
Unprecedented, yes. But yet again our Lettings Team rose to the challenge. Headed by Gayl and Rachel and supported by Leah and Louise, the team has worked flat out this Summer, testament to this is August being a record breaking month for their department! With every twist and turn that working from home and then working in the newly screened office has brought, our team has gone the extra mile to keep the business operating and more than healthy.
Not only has there been a huge effort to offer advice, but also compassion and help to both our landlords and tenants. The navigation of mass job losses from National Grid and IBM, previously a primary source of tenancy - through to the inevitable impact of loss of earnings through furlough and wage cuts; Gayl and Rachel have worked with Landlords and Tenants to come to an agreement between both parties to move forward positively.
The efforts provided in response to problems has been second to none, but also planning and preventative measures like Covid-secure viewing procedures, declaration forms and awareness of our different clients’ needs.

“Having just relocated from Dubai, it was hectic looking for a nice house to rent. We went to through a couple of agencies & finally stumbled upon EHB. Gayl was superb in showing us the property & advising us forward. As we were still stuck with an Air BnB, it was crucial for us to move in quickly to avoid further cost. Gayl magically fast-tracked our approval process and managed to get everything done for us in super quick time. We are able to move into our new house with no fuss at all. Special mention for Rachel as well in the office who was very polite and was kind enough to offer tissues and water on what was a very very hot day & she was very professional and proper during handover of assets.
