The conversion of a derelict school in Henley-in-Arden into a stunning development of exclusive homes picked up one of the most sought-after regional awards in the property industry.
Greywell Classic Homes has carefully brought back to the life the former River House School to create a series of stunning two and three-storey homes, as well as building six new apartments to fit in with the style of the school.
The restoration project has now been honoured by picking up the prize in the residential category of the RICS West Midlands Awards at a glittering ceremony in the Town Hall in Birmingham.
And with just one apartment remaining for sale, there is one last chance for buyers to be part of the award-winning Henley Grange scheme, which was described by judges as a ‘seamless blend of refurbishment, conversion and new build’.
The judges also praised the ‘obsessive attention to detail’ and said Henley Grange was a worthy winner.
Rupert Hopcraft, the managing director of Greywell Classic Homes, said it was a wonderful endorsement to the work that had been undertaken.
He said: “River House School was a well-known, well-liked building in Henley-in-Arden but had become an eyesore and rather than being a benefit to the local area, it was a blight. Many had looked at it and felt it was impossible to develop.
“When we looked at it, we thought there was great potential there and that, with the right commitment, it could be brought back to life.
“It’s taken a lot of hard work and the fact the judges mentioned our obsessive attention to detail will resonate with anyone who has spent the last four years working on this project.
“To be shortlisted for the award was a great honour, but to win it is just a wonderful endorsement for all of the thought, care and hard work that has gone into Henley Grange.
“And with just one apartment left for sale, time is running out for people who want to be part of this award-winning development.”
A showhome is open for viewing from 11am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday or by appointment with ehB Residential (01926 881144) or Hunters Estate Agents (01564 795757). Further details are available at www.GreywellProperty.com
